Earn Gift Cards with Swagbucks – My Review
If you’re looking to make some extra money, Swagbucks seems like a good way to do it.
I also recommend MTurk, but I’ll be publishing a blog post over at moneysavingmom.com in January so you can read all about my review of MTurk there.
I just started using Swagbucks, it hasn’t even been a week yet, so I’m giving my initial review and recommendation of the site. I’ll update in a new post after I’ve been using it for a while to let you know how it’s going and what I’ve learned.
Here’s what I think of Swagbucks so far:
Online Shopping
If you do online shopping it definitely makes sense to use this because you get points back (which can be redeemed for gift cards) for each dollar you spend when you do your online shopping through a Swagbucks link. I liken this part of Swagbucks to Ebates, but what I like more about Swagbucks is that they have a lot more ways to earn points.
Online Surveys
So far I haven’t been impressed with this section. It tells me there are dozens of surveys I can take, how long each will take me, and how many points I will get, which is nice. My problem is that I have yet to find a survey to take. I fill out several pages of questions and then get opted out of the survey because I don’t meet the demographic or other requirement they were looking for. I think the survey section would be good if it showed me surveys I was actually eligible to take.
Videos/ Swagbucks TV
You can watch movie trailers, cooking videos, news, etc… through the Swagbucks tv app and earn points for watching. This is an easy way to add extra points.
Special Offers
In addition to regular shopping rewards, there are several other special offers either for shopping at stores or signing up for other offers. There are a lot that I have no interest in but there are already a couple of special offers that actually applied to me and got me an extra 3600 swagbucks points for something I would have done anyway.
Other ways to earn points
There are a ton of ways to earn more points which makes it more fun to use. Use their search bar, take a daily poll, find no obligation special offers, look at curated content, get special codes worth points, etc…
Gamification Features
I like the fact that there are a lot of ways to earn points and thing you can do to get extra points. For example you can use the search bar to do your daily ‘Google’ searching (it uses Bing) and run into special bonus searches that award you around 9 or 10 points each. You can also get extra points if you meet daily point goals. These winning streak bonus points are awarded for weekly, 14 day, 21 day, and monthly.
Point System
Swagbucks uses a clear and easy point system for redeeming – 500 points = $5. There are a bunch of gift cards you can choose from including Amazon and Visa.
So far I would recommend Swagbucks. I think there are a lot of great features, and from reviews I’ve read it looks like other people tend to agree.
If you want to sign up please consider using my Swagbucks link which will help both of us earn more points. And let me know what you think about the site after you’ve had a chance to use it!
