My Top 5 Christmas Movie Picks – Watch Without Cable
Check Out My Top 5 Holiday Movie Picks and How to Watch Them Without Cable
I’m sure everyone has their favorite movies for the holiday season and they might not all be the same as mine, but I can’t imagine at least some of my top 5 not being on your favorite list too.
So if you’ve been dying to watch your favorite movies this Christmas season and you don’t have cable, or don’t already own them, here is where and how you can get them on your TV.
First, let’s start with the countdown:
5. Polar Express – MGO or Amazon Prime (Rent SD for 2.99)
- The animation is great and I love the story in this one. It’s a fun movie to watch.
4. How the Grinch Stole Christmas – MGO or Amazon Prime (Rent SD for 2.99)
- Who doesn’t love this story and Dr. Seuss in general? How the Grinch Stole Christmas is a classic.
3. Home Alone – MGO or Amazon Prime (Rent SD for 2.99)
- You just can’t beat the original. I started to watch Home Alone 3 the other day but it just wasn’t the same.
2. Elf – Amazon Prime (Rent SD for 2.99) or MGO (buy for 9.99)
- “We Elves try to stick to the four main food groups: Candy, candy canes, candy corns, and syrup”
1. Christmas Vacation – MGO or Amazon Prime (Rent SD for 2.99)
- My all time favorite for Christmas time! There are so many quotable lines from this movie.
The options:
Amazon Instant Video:
For Amazon Instant video you’ll need a prime account which costs $99 per year. There are tons of other perks to Amazon Prime (free 2 day shipping, 20% off diapers with Amazon mom, Kindle Books, Unlimited Photo Storage, etc… ) which I think makes it worth it. If you don’t want to spend the money on prime, you can always use M-GO on your Roku, which I also recommend.
MGO on Roku:
M-GO is Roku’s movie and TV rental site which you can find right on the main menu of your Roku box. If you don’t have a Roku I highly recommend it if you plan to cut the cable cord or if you already have. Plus with M-GO you can earn points for each rental and when you get enough you can get free movie rentals in the future.
I know these aren’t free options, but for $15 you can watch the top 5 (or at least my top 5) Holiday movies. That’s cheaper and a night out at the movie theater.
How does my top 5 stack up with your favorite picks?
